Why do we have a Tepee?

The facilities of Peartree are bespoke to our rural location. The idea of the tepee compliments our suite of rooms by offering an outside classroom for some ‘blue sky thinking’  that is both attractive and flexible. The tepee is set within our secure paddock enjoying views onto the vegetable patch and glimpses of our sapling tree plantation and the rolling countryside beyond. The children use this outside space for a wide range of activities including use of ‘Mud Kitchens’ , opportunities to build shelters, story time and songs by the supervised campfire.

The location is perfect for hosting ‘mobile events’ facilitating an informal class room setting for educators to bring birds, insects and exotic animals from around the globe so as to teach the next generation the value of looking after our wildlife and the environment.  The space is regularly used to host our family events.
